So the then Chief Minister of Punjab initiated a resolution in provincial assembly which was unanimously passed by MPAs.
After that Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education was came into being under the supervision of School Education Department (SED). The Lahore Board has been serving the majority of population of Punjab but with the passage of time some other boards were created in Punjab, despite of this there are 04 districts under the jurisdiction of BISE Lahore such as Kasur, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib and as well as Lahore itself.
It is necessary to mention here that the present Chief Minister, Govt. of the Punjab has taken some extraordinary and revolutionary steps for the betterment of education in Province of Punjab. The standard of education especially secondary and high secondary level is progressed a lot in recent few years. Lahore board with the assistance of Punjab Govt. and School education Department has also taken a marvelous decision by starting scholarship system. The scholarship is being provided to the needy, impoverished and poor students of this region. The board is responsible to conduct the exams of 9th, 10th,11th and as well as 12th class every year and this time board has recently conducted the exam of matric and 10th class in March & April-2015.
